While browsing through the posts at The Carnival of Money Stories , I came across this post from Ana at DebtFREE Revolution She asks “What would make you feel rich?”. That’s a question I’ve often asked people, with very varying answers. Ana’s post was inspired by an anonymous gift of a pen. She has a special exuberance, her delight at the gift and her obvious relish when she talks about her dreams are charming and infectious.
She is already rich, she may not yet have the dollars in the bank, but she is. The question she asked is a good one. There are very few absolutes in life, here are two: What you resists, persists and what you focus on grows. Resist your bad luck and focus on lack and that’s what you’ll attract – bad luck and more lack. Count your blessings and notice the small riches that come to you and watch them grow.
The picture in this post isn’t something I downloaded, it’s the place I walk everyday. That view is 5 minutes walk from my house. I live close to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and my neighbour is The 11th Duke of Marlborough. As locals, we have ancient rights to walk in the park. Walking in Blenheim Park makes me feel rich, it’s why I moved here.
Feeling rich can come from a gift of pen, a hug from a child or a walk in the park, it could be a bag of sweets or a trip to the movies – it could take a new car or designer handbag. It all depends on how we choose to see the world. Some people’s glass is half full, some is half empty – Why not let yours overflow?

Thanks for the link, and so glad you found the post inspiring! That looks like a beautiful park to live next door to, and I can see why you feel so enriched by just walking through it.
