This site is running a competition for young people in The United States. The idea is that they make a short video about the dangers of credit card debt. It encourages them now to make the same mistakes their parents might have done. Young people can win a $5000 scholarship but the biggest win will be the learning that comes from participating.What are you doing to make sure your kids get good, sound financial beliefs and habits?

Excellent idea. Debt causes so much damage there really should be a government health warning issued every time you use your credit cards.
Can you imagine it, you open your purse, take out your card and the minute it is swiped and before you enter your pin a message is sounded ” This purchase can seriously damage your health and your wealth are you sure you can afford it?”
Neat idea - linking debt to a ‘hot topic’ to get the attention of kids. And nice to develop the awareness that debt is not cool.
This is a wonderful idea. When debt is used properly it is a wonderful tool, when used poorly it can kill you. Many children these days don’t know the value of money, ATM’s are just money machines and Credit Cards work by magic. Consumer Debt can dig you so deep you are willing to do a lot to try and ease the strain.
