American entrepreneurs can get excellent help from mentors all over the country via a website called SCORE. The advice is free and they have lots of downloads available too. For instance, there’s a downloadable pdf file called How to Biz debts you can’t afford. They have workshops and articles on approaching banks, managing cashflow, getting loans and applying for grants. A lot of the help can apply to households too. That has to be useful. I strongly suggest taking a look, it really is very useful – and no, I have no vested interest, I can’t even use their services because I’m British.
